Imagine a child exploring their envioronment as an infant being carried to and from place to place; Soon motivated to crawl to get his/her  favorite toy, Then a few steps and they fall, and fall again - they build muscle strength and resiliance. I have never met a adult that still crawls.

As a child reaches one milestone to the next their physical, emotional and cognitve functions are measured against normal standards. Weight, height, social interactions and much more.

As a Registered Massage Therapist and Osteopathic Manual Therapist 90% of my clients are adults and most of them had never had a manual therapy treatment as a child.

In 2024, we know how important posture is for our overall health. We spend thousands of hours at a desk, develping ridity in our spines and rounded shoulders. With technology now interated in everything we do, more and more we are looking at our phones and computers.

At 2 years old - most children know how to naviagate to you tube on mom/dad's phone, answer and end video calls (even if you have to talk to their forehead or celing!), We are in a new world

Infant massage is a practice that has been used for centuries to promote relaxation, bonding, and better sleep in babies. The gentle touch and rhythmic motions of an infant massage can help soothe and calm a fussy baby, making it easier for them to fall asleep. Here are a few tips for incorporating infant massage into your bedtime routine:
  1. Choose a quiet, comfortable place to massage your baby, free from distractions and interruptions.
  2. Use gentle, slow strokes and focus on your baby's arms, legs, tummy, and back.
  3. Incorporate lullabies or soft music to create a calming atmosphere.
  4. Avoid massaging your baby right before bedtime as this may stimulate them instead of calming them.
  5. Consider using baby-friendly oils or lotions to enhance the experience and moisturize your baby's skin.
Remember, every baby is different and what works for one may not work for another. The key is to be patient, gentle, and responsive to your baby's cues. If they seem uncomfortable or fussy during the massage, stop and try again another time. Infant massage can be a wonderful way to help your baby relax and sleep better, and is also a great opportunity for you to bond with your little one.
